Secondly, because RM processes eliminate the need for tooling, it is also suited to many low volume / high value engineering applications currently undertaken using existing technologies.
Finally, because RM allows parts to be manufactured in geometries unattainable by other processes, RM also allows us to design for functionality rather than design for manufacture. However, faced with so many potential applications and benefits, it is often difficult to see how RM can be integrated into a companies existing supply chain.
